About the Owner
Seana Florida, KPA-CTP
I've spent over ten years working with dogs, and I'm passionate about helping dogs and their people build stronger relationships through positive reinforcement training. As a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) and Certified Puppy Start Right Instructor, I use science-based, reward-based methods that are both effective and compassionate.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity from the University of Michigan, where I developed a deeper understanding of how genetics, learning, and the environment influence behavior. That perspective continues to shape the way I approach every dog as an individual.
Before becoming a full-time trainer, I worked as a veterinary assistant, gaining hands-on experience administering medications, caring for dogs with medical needs, and recognizing changes in health and behavior. That background allows me to provide knowledgeable, attentive care both during training and while boarding or pet sitting.
At the heart of my work is the belief that training should strengthen the relationship between you and your dog—not rely on fear or intimidation. Every training plan is tailored to your dog's unique personality, needs, and your family's goals, so you can build skills that last long after our sessions are over.
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me exploring with my poodle, Gemma. Living and training alongside her is a constant reminder that every dog learns differently, and that patience, clear communication, and trust make all the difference.
Whether you're welcoming a new puppy, working through behavior challenges, or simply looking for extra support, I'd love to help you and your dog reach your goals together.
About Gemma
Gemma is a 5-year-old moyen poodle. At 35 lbs, she’s energetic, loves playing fetch, and enjoys her time running free at Sniffspot with her furry friends. While she’s sweet and playful, she also struggles with overexcitement and reactivity, requiring a mindful approach to her training and socialization.
